This Week In Geek… 4/21/12

Marvel Universe brought us brand new episodes of Ultimate Spider-man and The Avengers: Earth”s Mightiest Heroes. On USM, Peter Parker goes head to head with bully Flash Thompson and we see the debut of Venom. On TAEMH, the team is caught between the Masters of Evil and Enchantress, who is seeking revenge for their betrayal.

This week in geek starts with the return of  Syfy’s Eureka. Now in its fifth and final season, it starts directly after the events of the season four finale when the sabotaged Astreaus project mysteriously disappeared with its crew and Alison Blake.

We also had a new episode of Thundercats, which focused on Wilykit and Wilykat’s origin stories.

On DC Nation, we continue to follow Hal Jordan, Kilowag and Razor in Green Lantern: The Animated Series as they search for rations on a feuding planet. And on Young Justice, after last weeks huge reveal, we have the side kicks facing off with the heroes!

Avengers vs X-Men #2
 came out on Wednesday, in which Captain America lead the Avengers in an all out battle for Hope “The Mutant Messiah” against Cyclops and the X-Men.

Batman #8 kicks off the “Night of the Owls” crossover with an unexpected attack on Wayne Manor where Bruce Wayne is recovering after battling the Court of Owls.

The Hunger Games
sequel has acquired I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence to work on Catching Fire

Warner Bros. hired Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) to direct a live-action adaptation of the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo.

Director Robert Rodriguez confirmed that Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson will return in the sequel to Sin City titled A Dame To Die For.

The Daily Telegraph reported, Fox’s The Wolverine,  sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will be shooting primarily in Sydney, Australia instead of British Columbia. The Wolverine will be based on the 1982 mini-series Wolverine by Frank Millar and Chris Claremont.

Marvel Studios also released another clip from the upcoming and much-anticipated Avengers, featuring Iron Man and Thor going head to head. In case you didn’t see that here it is.
