This week television execs went nuts with program renewals, cancellations and pickup this week.

  • Renewals: Happy Endings, Modern Family, Castle, Once Upon a Time, Suburgatory, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Body of Proof, Parks & Rec, Whitney, Up All Night, Fashion Star, The Office, Community, Gossip Girl, Nikita, Supernatural, Heart of Dixie, Touch, The Vampire Diaries, 90210, Family Guy, American Dad, Grimm, Smash, Comic Book Men and The Talking Dead
  • Cancellations: The Missing, CGB, Pan Am, The River, Harry’s Law, BFF, Are You There, Chelsea, Bent, Awake, Ringer, The Secret Circle, Alcatraz, The Finder and  Allen Gregory
  • Pickups: 666 Park Ave., Zero Hour, Last Resort, Neighbors, 1600 Penn, Guys With Kids, Save Me, Chicago Fire, Revolution, The Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, Beauty and the Beast, Cult and Arrow.

Told you it was a lot.

TNT also release an extended preview of the upcoming season of Falling Skies returning June 17 at 9pm ET/PT with a two-hour premiere.

My top pick for comics this week is Batman #9, part of the “Night of the Owls” cross over event. Scott Snyder brings us yet another awesome issue. As we know from issue #8, The Court of Owls have overrun Wayne Manor and Bruce Wayne has to take them on, while Talons are all over Gotham going after specific targets. Alfred is locked away in a control room and Batman is in the bat cave battling against the Talons continuing onslaught. Greg Capullo’s art work makes this issue even more fun and adds to the intensity. Definitely a must read!

Here are some more of this weeks releases:

  • Dark Horse – Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 9 #9, Savage Sword of Conan: Volume 11 TP, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic War #5

To finish off this week in geek, here’s a video starring Clare Grant and Rileah Vanderbilt from Team Unicorn FTW, that came out last week for May the 4th (Yeah, I know its been more than a week, but I didn’t post anything last week, so :-P) directed by Seth Green and brought to us by the folks over at Nerdist.
