This Week In Geek…6/17/12

Whats up geeks!!! It’s been a few weeks since I last did This Week In Geek, I’m going to try to be a little more consistent and keep it to a weekly thing. Enjoy!

This week, the CW debut an extended trailer for Arrow and hints that there could be a possible Deathstroke tie-in. SWEET!!!

Unfortunately, Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes will not be renewed for a third season, but Marvel has announced Avengers Assemble as its replacement scheduled to air sometime in 2013.

Cartoon Network announced that Teen Titans will return as a part of their DC Nation morning block of animation.

Disney XD renewed Ultimate Spider-Man for a second season with more Marvel hero cameos and a look into the origins of Iron Fist, White Tiger, Nova and Power Man.

Portia De Rossi and Jerry O’Connell will both be a part Mockingbird Lane, NBCs reboot to The Munsters as Lilly and Herman Munster.

Tons of new comics out this week but my top pick is Batman #10. Holy cow! Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo did an amazing job with this issue. I don’t want to say much but it is awesome and a surprise that will blow your mind!

Another comic out this week that is out this week is Marvel’s Spider-Men #1. Brian Michael Bendis did a great job on this issue bringing Peter Parker in to a Parker-less Ultimate Universe. Very enjoyable and definitely worth picking up!

Video Games
The biggest release this week, is the much-anticipated (at least anticipated by me) is Lollipop Chainsaw. It’s a third person action game featuring a killer heroine with a chainsaw that fights to stop zombies from taking over. Enough said!

Dr. House, Hugh Laurie will play the evil CEO of Omnicorp Jose Padilha in MGMs Robocop remake.

Warner Bros and Marvel are set to release first footage of Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 at San Diego Comic Con next month.

Stephen Colbert and Allison Janney will voice Dreamworks Animation’s adaptation of Mr. Peabody & Sherman. That right, the classic short from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show will be a feature film.

Lost writer, Damon Lindelof, is set to rewrite the adaption of World War Z before seven weeks of reshoots.

Disney has acquired the rights to Stuff Of Legends and has Pete Candeland attached to direct.

Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures are fighting to the death to acquire the rights to Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell franchise to the big screen.

The Jim Henson Company has acquired the film rights to any Frog and Toad, Arnold Lobel’s award-winning series of children’s books from the 1970s.

In upsetting movie news, Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions, Sony Pictures Animation and Hasbro are teaming up to bring us a Tonka Truck movie… Really!?

My favorite trailer of the week is for a movie called Wreck-It Ralph. Check it out!!!
